Affiliations

The Alberta Renshikan Association is a collective of clubs in Alberta that formally belong to the Canadian Shito Ryu Renshikan karate organization, from which technical expertise is drawn, and a connection to Mabuni Senei's Shito Ryu organization is maintained.

Currently, all Alberta Renshikan Association clubs are also members of the Karate Alberta Association (KAA). KAA was founded in 1973 and is the officially recognized representative for the sport of Karate in Alberta. It is a provincial member of Karate Canada, which is the officially recognized representative and governing body for the sport of Karate in Canada. Karate Canada is a member of the World Karate Federation (WKF), the sport governing body recognized by the International Olympic Committee for karate in the Olympics. Through these organizations, athletes can participate in provincial, national, and international competitions.
